Dorset Recreation Center Revamp
Gonneau Building Group were engaged to revamp the community center to make it AODA compliant. The Dorset Recreation Centre features a full gymnasium, squash courts, fitness room, kitchen and meeting areas, as well as a branch of the Haliburton County Public Library.
An overview of our work
A new HVAC system for air exchange
Replacing the flooring for much of the building
A dedicated room for the new Library
Renewing most of the existing rooms on the lower level including the weight room, new library, washrooms and foyer
Upper level the existing rooms were refreshed included the squash court and the gym
Upper level new rooms included AODA accessible Universal washroom, new Mens and Ladies washrooms, and the main foyer.
The exterior entryway was enhanced. Access to building was made AODA accessible with ramps and railing. New paved lot to provide handicap parking spaces with ramp to sidewalks
The grand opening was held on July 27th. There was a large attendance and was a great success. The residents were very happy and excited to enjoy the updated facility.
